Just got a message from a senior talent partner at Gartner for a "end-to-end sales opportunities supporting the retention and growth of existing customers at Gartner"
Anyone know what this role's title would be? Account Manager? SDR for an existing customer base and working for account manager(s)?

Could be AE role in MSE or ALE.  Need to get clarification.  Territory, and manager are critical to AE success.  Most roles are open due to attrition.  AE success is low, so clients see a lot of this turnover and become annoyed.  The high attrition also relates to unrealistic growth goals and retention issues due to service challenges as well as being in a difficult economic market.  Ask questions and know the answers will be filtered and you wont get all of the story

First of all the talent partner needs to polish their pitch. Secondly, this could be quite a few different things, from platform demo specialist, to client success associate, to account executive. My money is on the first two, but best to clarify with the talent person on what the role title is.

Really depends- I would just ask them the title- Could be a client success partner role, Account Manager role, or even an Account Executive role- All three of those are involved with retention and growth of existing customers- Just at different levels.

Gartner is a hit and miss.
Ask a lot of questions about the Territory, the accounts, the management and...the attrition.
It's VERY likely that you are taking over the role of a person who got replaced less than a year into the role.
Expect your accounts to have met 3 AEs in less than two years.
