Former SMB AE promoted from BDR. Lasted as an AE for a little over a year before burning out. SMB is hell. You're a glorified BDR working the worst accounts. Territory is complete luck and if you get a bad one, you're screwed or you're grinding 10-12 hour days and sourcing Open Territory on Sundays before other reps find the hidden gold. It's a GRIND to find good accounts and hopefully skim by quota. Not worth it IMO. Get experience elsewhere or get into MM as fast as you can. Loved being a BDR there though. Taught me a lot and the training/onboarding is unmatched.

Overall experience was okay. 10 years ago the company was probably a great place to work. Now, its saturated, tons of sales people, territories are small, and it really depends on which territory you're given. Some reps make P-club because their territory is cushy and its all inbound.
