AE is the best job at Salesforce, with excellent support both directly and via matrixed organizations. First and second line supervisors have intimate knowledge of the market, but excessive focus on dashboards and too many irrelevant KPIs from Senior Out of Touch VPs almost make it untenable. Fortune Favors The Bold, and Executive VPs don't trust their subordinate VPs, despite delivering top line revenues and profitability targets well above the "Rule of 40".
