This sales role is being overtaken by 3rd party shipping sites that can offer shippers competitive rates, integration and service. In my area there wasn’t a lot of opportunity unless they were lost to FedEx or USPS for a couple years and came back. Hitting plan isn’t terrible, but funding the pipeline can be difficult. The product and service is top notch in the industry. Salary and commission can be better and goals need to be reviewed and change as the entire market changes. Sometimes they make goals unattainable.

Tons of micromanagement and unrealistic expectations from management. Upper management is useless and adds zero value and leads with fear. Pricing is also awful and not to mention our customers can get cheaper rates from 3rd party vendors therefor opportunity is tough and we are competing with ourselves.
