Current Employee Experience as a BDR.
Pros:
- high bar, org is filled with talented AEs (as well as SAs) to learn from
- fantastic product market fit, quota is attainable for most
- great place to build foundation in a fantastic area of tech (big data, AI/ML)
Cons:
- extreme micromanagement and BDRs are loaded with operational reporting on their work
- comp plan is mostly out of your control (late stage opps and account spend)
- 60% of your success will depend on your accounts and AEs (this is kind of everywhere though)
- quotas get higher every quarter (this is once again pretty normal though)
- promotions timelines are on the longer side and from what I've seen not easy to come by
Compared with other companies, BDR org is more tightly run. This comes with its fair share of BS, but if you commit to succeeding and learning the product, there's probably not many better companies to launch a sales career from. Browse Other Reviews
