Current Employee Datadog has a great product and a strong brand, but the EMEA leadership culture has become extremely toxic. Morale is low across the region, and a big part of that comes from very inexperienced first-line managers who are put into roles they’re not ready for. Coaching is almost non-existent and the default management style is pressure and metrics for the sake of metrics.
The sales culture is obsessed with activity numbers. You’re pushed to hit arbitrary KPIs like 50 discovery calls with random prospects instead of spending time on meaningful customer conversations that actually move deals. It creates busywork, not outcomes.
Commercial flexibility is another big problem. We’re losing more and more deals to competitors like Grafana who are simply easier for customers to work with on pricing and terms. Frontline teams feel the impact every day, and leadership doesn’t seem to adjust.
If you join, go in with eyes open: the product is strong, the people in the field are great, but the EMEA leadership environment makes the job much harder than it needs to be. Browse Other Reviews
