Current Employee As a Security SSP who spent 15 years selling into SecOps outside of MSFT, it's flabbergasting how unserious most of the sales leadership is in terms of their understanding of Cyber. About 5 years ago there was a shift where everyone wanted to latch onto this cool new thing called Security. The result is MSFT lifers who grew up selling Excel 98 are now in charge of $1B orgs. They bring nothing to a customer conversation, they're only there for escalations and pipeline management. Exec sponsorship in cyber sales is typically a product group lifer rather than someone who speaks the languages. If you want to play the Look at Me! game and rest/vest it's a good role. If you want to be taken seriously as a cyber industry member, this is not the place. Browse Other Reviews
