What is the sales culture like at OpenText?

I can only speak to the Business Network Mid-Market team. The VP of sales is the worst "leader" I have ever had the displeasure of working under. The absolute worst of the worst. The rest of the company, I think, is ok or better.

my experience with sales leaders was they are bullys.  I also had a manager that targetted one person on his team no matter what to terminate them.  I was a number one performer, and after 3 years I was his target.  Good luck.

I was laid off after 6 months BUT. The onboarding felt like family; everyone was eager to help and be resourceful. QBR's were not aggressive like they were at Oracle. Quotas were a little high like everywhere else, customer retainment is a problem like everywhere else.

It vastly depends on your business unit within the organization and individual direct leadership.  Mine is amazing- but coworkers have not had the same experience.

It depends on the BU. My experience is very good; my leadership encourages self-improvement and exposes me to interesting projects. But, backend processes are very cumbersome, with multiple approval chains and a lot of politics between sales and renewals.

Depends on the team that you are talking about. Some teams are good and others are not. The BN team didn’t have a great culture when I was there, not sure about the others.

Culture generally is very nice, most important thing for you to know is the territory and solutions which you can sell. If you get good patch then you can have great start. Management at times set up teams, where they hire more AE's but each one will have smaller territory resulting in disparity and few AE's bound to fail because of the team set up.

You will hear mixed responses from different sales team. Some are good some are bad. Quota attainment on an average is on the lower side.

I would agree with the other comment about it is business unit dependent.  It depends on the products you're selling and the perception in the market.   Some solutions are doing great.  Some not so much.  Virtually no budget for customer events or marketing events.

The culture here is the best I’ve ever seen in my 20+ years of sales experience. I’m a sales manager in the ECS business. Club-goer multiple years. Lots of folks stay a long time. It is not unusual to find tenure of 10-20 years in sales and solution consulting. High performance + kindness. Join us!
