Looking at joining as a BDR, how does the onboarding process look like? And what kind of equipment do they issue (laptop, cellphone, others)?

Laptop, Cellphone, Keyboard, Mouse, Headset. The Onboarding and its quality largely depends on your Trailguide and how well they teach you what’s important. The serve as kind of a mentor. Of course there is courses as well. It is very structured but does not prepare too well for the actual job.

In terms of equipment, I got a choice of a macbook pro or a pc. They also supplied me with a low end iPhone. 
I did 1 week onboarding in San Francisco but that may vary depending on your location.

The onboarding is about a month long, the first week you have the option of doing at the Salesforce Tower in San Francisco or Chicago (depending on your location).  It’s a decent onboarding experience. Then you’ll have 3 months of  ramp. 
- $200 for headphones
- MacBook
- Cell Phone (iPhone)

Onboarding takes place online, through Salesforce’s ‘Bootcamp’ programme. You’ll do this with a decent sized group of new joiners. Overall it’s quite a decent onboarding process.

You’ll have the choice of a Mac or PC laptop, plus an iPhone or Android phone (90%+ people use Mac)

While some can have a negative sentiment as a whole towards the BDR world due to high performing metrics and KPI’s, I started as someone who came in from the restaurant world with no experience in tech and learned a strong foundation in BDR.

I’m now a GRB AE and dedicate my success to time in BDR

Onboarding is typically a month long training from internal teams and then you will have enablements every month with your team to learn more. Often times you will learn the most from being aligned to you account executives. You will get a company laptop and corporate phone (iPhone). All offices have standing / sitting desks with monitors as well.
