Current Employee Dell and EMC used to have a lot of opportunity for upward mobility. If you strategically made an internal move every 2 years, you would have the opportunity to significantly increase your pay. They also consistently gave merit increases to your OTE if you were performing. Over the last few years, too much talent has left the company and non-stop re-orgs have made upward mobility impossible and has killed morale.
