Salesforce is not what it once was. The “ohana” culture is no longer. Promotions aren’t based on performance - rather if you’re connected to the right people. If you happen to get a great manager and patch, you’ll do well. A lot of bad management though.

Internal promotions don't get market pay, just like anywhere else. 50/50 OTE comp plan. Similar accounts aligned to external peers but essentially doing the same job but for 30-40% OTE pay. If you're external its a great opportunity, but learning the sales process at Salesforce and navigating the large corporation is difficult for a lot of new hires.

Overall Salesforce has an incredible culture and provides tons of opportunities for growth and development. They take care of their employees and have fantastic benefits, particularly for female employees. Their family leave policies and fertility benefits are wonderful and so appreciated for employees looking to start a family.
