Proofpoint has an exciting opening for a Business Development/Lead Qualification Sales Representative within our group. 


We are seeking a candidate with experience and knowledge in identifying and qualifying potential clients for our End User Security Awareness Training Solutions. In this role, your primary responsibility will be outbound prospecting, generating interest to uncover sales ready opportunities and qualifying new leads in a team environment within North America.      


• Outbound communication by phone and email to a large volume of cold and warm leads daily 


• Initiate conversations with Security C-Level decision makers, qualify and manage inquiries, identify and understand business needs, and create new business opportunities 


• Qualify through discovery and refer opportunities as appropriate to Outside Sales teams 


• Provide management with accurate forecasting and reports 


• Work closely with Marketing to follow-up on tradeshow leads and inbound marketing leads, recruit attendees for webinars and seminars, set up interritory visits for outside sales team to coincide with event marketing activities 


• Collaborate with marketing to identify opportunities and create a pipeline through demand generation and targeted campaigns 


• In depth understanding of Wombat’s product lines to ensure success in qualifying leads 


• Develop competitive knowledge and an understanding of Industry products to leverage in sales cycle 


• Maintain lead records and activities using Salesforce 


• 2 years of related inside solution software sales or lead generation experience preferred 


• Ability to be assertive and persuasive without being too aggressive 


• Great verbal, written communication and time management skills a must 


• Basic computer skills such as Outlook/Gmail, MS Office and Salesforce 


• Bachelor’s Degree, previous experience in a team environment and technology savvy 


• A proven track record of competition, success, and building relationships 


• Demonstrates strong business communication skills, including but not limited to verbal and written communication, ability to communicate effectively and able to demonstrate interpersonal skills
