I’ve been offered a role as a senior AE in large enterprise. I’ve heard training is pretty intense. Any suggestions on prep ahead and what in particular makes it so “intense”

I wouldn’t call it intense - it’s a lot of modules, with trainers hosting calls from time to time. Your manager could potentially make it more intense for you, but mine didn’t. The real training will start when you’re out of training. Gartner is a beast and can take years to learn.

The training program is intense. The Learning and development people hosting  the training courses are all extremely successful former AE’s. It’s hard work but there is no such thing as failing as long as you leave your attitude a the door, are open to feedback and show eagerness to learn.

You have nothing to worry about.
Before the pandemic they used to fly everyone out for training in person in for 6 weeks. Now it’s a few weeks of virtual. Just keep up with the tasks and you’ll be fine :) promise!

If it’s still virtual, it’s not as bad as when people all went to Fort Myers. You’ll spend the first month with a mix of moderated training and asynchronous learning. After that, you’ll owe some role presentations to your boss (similar to the pre-hire panel). It’s good training and easy to follow.

You need to spend time with all of the teams you'll be working with to understand their role in how they'll enable your success. Gartner is a hard sell. Practice & look to Eagle achievers for advice & mentorship. Research the hell out of your clients and lean on your team & manager at first.

It’s not hard. Just a ton of info that used to be a 2 month training condensed into a 2-3 week training.
